Okay, so I guess it's time to start to acknowledge that Jack might have some serious problems.  He's going out of his way to become Mr. Rogue CTU Agent again.  There are just too many questions this raises:

What about the fact that his daughter works there?

What about the fact that he has had unconditional support thus far?

What about the fact that CTU is usually trusted with secrets, such as, ohhh, I don't know, "accidentally" letting someone break out of jail so it doesn't look like you're negotiating with terrorists?

What does Michelle look like naked?

Okay, so Jack's behavior doesn't cause us to ask that last question, but I felt like asking it anyway.  You know, while we're on the subject of Michelle's naked body, I was thinking it'd be fun for Hollywood to do a parody of 24, wherein the opening is picked on.  For example, we could still have the characters introduced, "Jack Bauer." "President David Palmer."  But then for some characters, we could add special introductions:

"Kim Bauer"

"Kim Bauer's ass"

"Michelle Dessler"

"Michelle's Cleavage" (you can picture the close up freeze-frame, can't you?)

Alright, so I'm digressing.  But I think it's an interesting idea.  Frankly, it's amazing I'm not running a creative department somewhere.  (
Hint to Fox - I'm open to offers.)

Anyway, so we pick up right where we left off - poor Tony has been shot in the neck, which is never a good thing.  If he can hobble back into action this season, I will rail on the 24 writers for being just plain silly, although since he probably won't be a central character the rest of this season, I am a bit disappointed.  People love Tony and I've often thought that a lot of that has to do with the fact that before 24, most of us had never seen him before.  Yet he held his own on the screen with more well-known actors as well as characters who were given more lines and development.  It wasn't really until last season that Tony truly began to develop as a character.

Speaking of him, he was into that ambulance awfully fast, wasn't he?  I mean, to us it was a week, but in 24-land, that was just a couple minutes later.  Or has CTU wised up and started sending ambulances wherever Jack goes?  (*rim shot* -- thank you, thank you)

So now Michelle's in charge over at CTU?  We have two director-level agents, both of whom are out of action at the end of the fourth hour, so the job now falls to Michelle.  Is she this senior?  I mean, I guess she is Tony's lieutenant the way Tony was for Mason last season - with a little more sex involved, I imagine.  (The sex jokes never get old, do they?)  However, last season, Michelle was just an "internet protocol manager" and now she's an assistant special-agent-in-charge?  We know she's not field trained, so it's odd to me that she'd be running the show.  What if CTU has to quarterback something the way they did at the end of last season, coordinating with agents, snipers, etc?  Would Michelle be able to handle that?  Would she be qualified to?  Does the President ever wonder who the hell is in charge over there?  Speaking of the President and CTU, does Jack have "President" listed in his cell phone speed dial, or do you think he has it under "David"?  Goodness, I'm all over the place today.
