Oh, Kim, Kim, Kim.  Just when you give us a flicker of hope that perhaps you're not as clueless as we've come to believe over the past few years, you go and do something this stupid.

Let us review.

Kim notices Gael's mysterious and suspicious behavior (let's skip for a moment the fact that everyone should have noticed by this point that he's late for every meeting and disappears into the control room for long stretches at a time, as well as looks like he smells a fart every time someone at CTU says something about "getting close to finding" anything), and then she notices that she could take a look at whatever he was accessing because he failed to end his transmission correctly.  She wisely doesn't make a big deal of it to gay Adam.  Then, she even takes a glance at the monitor and sees that Gael is occupied by Michelle and obviously is not immediately returning to the room.  What does she do next?  Oh, she dawdles around and finally gets around to spying on evil Gael's doings just about the time Gael comes back!  No, no, no!  Then….  she thinks it's Adam coming and begins to blurt out that something's wrong - what made her think it was Adam?  Do he and Gael shop at the same shoe store or something?  Unfortunately for Gael (and for us) she didn't think it was Chase coming in - perhaps she would have pulled open her top in a flirty welcome for her boyfriend.

Speaking of that room, why the hell is it so dark?  Can this be explained please?  And why is it so secluded from the rest of CTU?  Hey, here's an idea:  start posting guards in important rooms like that so that evil infiltrators like Gael can't use it as a home base to aid terrorists, not to mention "buffering from CTU."  What the hell was that?  And did Jack know Gael was in on it?  He couldn't have.  But more to the point, how is Gael able to render CTU helpless to intercepting the radio frequency Jack used to radio to the Salazar pilot?  Hmmm, I don't know.  And I don't think we'll ever find out.  But it looks like Gael is about to be unmasked.

One thing I need to publicly pat myself on the back for is my prediction that Kim would be taken out of play by Michelle.  While she managed to talk herself back into it, I was correct that this would be the feeling around CTU.  I don't like the fact, though, that someone running the place can be talked out of a (correct) decision by a low-level computer programmer.  Although, as I mentioned a couple weeks ago, Michelle doesn't seem senior enough to be running the show.  Presto!  It's Ryan Chappelle!  He of the odd nose.  It's like one of those paintings that seems to follow you, only with Chappelle's nose it seems like no matter what angle we see him from it isn't pointing straight at you.  It's always off to the side, like a cartoon character.  Regardless, I'm happy he's back.  His tight-ass, protocol-driven nature always makes for good theater on 24.  However, has there ever been a more creepy, awkward hug than the one he gave Michelle when she told him Tony was going to be okay?  I mean, for a second I was happy he showed some human emotion and understood she was shaken and dropped his hard-ass routine for a minute.  Then I sort of curled into the fetal position in my recliner when he hugged her like a dad hugging his teenage son.  Weird.

Okay, did I just see Jack outmaneuver two fully-armed military helicopters with what amounts to a freaking news chopper?  Just checking.  Oh, and was that radar thingamajigger an aftermarket add-on to the Warden's chopper or is that standard?  I'll only say a couple other things about the helicopter chase - for one thing, how can we be so precise about where we can shoot them down?  I mean, this isn't the Midwest.  L.A. is so spread out, it certainly doesn't go from open fields to downtown in a minute.  Not even by helicopter.  Or were they planning to shoot him down so he lands in someone's pool on the suburbs of L.A.?  Not only that, but is it just me or did Jack seem sort of nonchalant about the fact that they were about to be shot down imminently?  I mean, wouldn't that really throw a wrench into his plan, if he and Salazar were killed?
