December 5, 2005 - Here lie the Season Four reviews.  D and I generally agreed that this was perhaps the most consistent season in terms of few "filler" episodes and completely untied plot ends.

That's not to say there wasn't plenty to bitch and snark about, which we did here in abundance.   Enjoy.

June 15 - Well, I promised an extravaganza and then we dropped the ball and haven't posted anything.  What can we say?  Our cars ran out of gas!  An old friend came in from out of town!  We were mugged!  (Okay, if you're too young for the Blues Brothers reference, skip it.)

Anyway, the final reviews of the season are hereby posted.  As promised, both D and I did our own reviews of each of the final two hours:

J:
Hour Twenty-Three and Hour Twenty-Four

D:
Hour Twenty-Three and Hour Twenty-Four

In other news, one of my favorite columnists,
Bill Simmons from ESPN.com, has recently become a huge fan of 24, which he comments on in this column.  It's about time, Bill.

We sincerely hope you've enjoyed yet another season of our mirthless jibber-jabber.  We'll be back in January 2006 for Season Five of 24.  Feel free to check back here for random, unspecified updates on tidbits regarding 24.  Until then, be well, be safe and stay away from Los Angeles.

May 20 - My regrets for the delay in posting here.  I was out of the country upon my return was bombarded by.... well, life.  You know how it is.

In any event, you will now find the reviews for both
Hour Twenty-One and Hour Twenty-Two posted.  As a special treat, D and I will both be reviewing Monday's two-hour season finale.

REMEMBER -- 24 is on at 8 PM on Monday.  Makes a lot of sense, right?  Change the start time to an hour
earlier to ensure that if anybody misses the memo they'll miss one of the most crucial hours of the season.  Well-played, Fox.

Speaking of Fox, because of my day job, I had to turn down the opportunity to attend Fox's fall schedule unveiling in New York yesterday.  Keifer was going to be there and I would have had a good chance to meet him.  Damn day job.

And finally, a tidbit from the latest review:

"You knew they were gearing up for Tony to get put in the hot seat as soon as Jack asked for him explicitly to come along on this latest search-and-get-destroyed mission. If we've learned one thing this year, it's that Jack tends to repay those who save his life by getting them killed. I swear, if he ever calls me and asks for help, I'm going to start talking in a foreign language and then hang up. 'No speaky the English, Meester Bow-air.'"

Look for our grand finale review next week.  Two for the price of one.  Since you don't pay anything, though, I'm not sure if that's a good deal or not.

Apr 22 - "Chloe finds out the nuke is gone from the highway patrol because the satellites don’t work due to the mountainous terrain? In Iowa? I’m looking at a relief map of the US right now and it looks to me like you have to go to Arkansas or Kentucky before you find anything more mountainous than Pamela Anderson." -- D, on Hour Eighteen.

Half a dozen hours of good, old-fashioned torturing fun left!  The whole band will be back together soon, with Palmer and others soon rejoining the fray.  Stay tuned.

Mar 24 - "Why didn’t Marwan shoot Jack? There’s the obvious answer of course, in that Fox executives would be really pissed." - D, on Hour Fourteen.

In
D's take on Hour Fourteen, he comments that he feels Dina's best move would have been to shoot Jack, not Marwan.  This is one of the rare times we disagree on this show.  If she'd shot Jack then yes, she might have lived another minute or two, but Behrooz' future -- as well as her chances at a taxpayer-sponsored life with a white picket fence -- would be bleak.  So her only play, in my opinion, was to stay aligned with Jack and try to go for it.

As a result of D disagreeing with me, he's been fired.

(No, not really.)
