Yankee Stadium
Yankee Stadium, Bronx, New York (visited countless times from 1994 to the present) - The house that Ruth built.  Quite honestly, there is no place like it.  Obviously, I am somewhat biased, but it is something many players have also said.  There is no better place to win than New York -- and no worse place to lose.  The fans can be merciless and often are, even to a player they have loved for a long time.  The fans in New York know their baseball and are aware of everything, from pitcher-hitter matchups to a guy's pickoff move to who is about to be traded.  The hot dogs at Yankee Stadium are probably the best stadium dogs I've had yet -- but again, I could be a little jaded.  The sightlines are very good and I have yet to find a park where sitting in the upper deck still feels so close to the action.  The bleacher creatures at the Stadium are only rivaled, in my opinion, by those at Wrigley Field in Chicago -- they are in a class by themselves.
Monument Park is absolutely awe-inspiring, but you need to time your visit well; it closes about an hour before game time.  There has never been a collection of greater players who played for the same team.  That's part of what makes the Stadium the greatest place in many people's minds -- it may not be the absolute most beautiful (although it is a gorgeous park with a fabulous field) but it has such a rich history.  Watching Bernie Williams glide across the outfield and thinking about how Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, and Babe Ruth also spent time out there is one of those things that makes you feel lucky to have been there.  Who knows how long it will stand?  There have been rumblings lately about moving the Yanks and thus abandoning the Stadium.  If you've ever been to a playoff game there, you would agree that there is absolutely nothing that should be changed.
